Insectoacaricidal drugs Blokhneth are designed to remove almost all insects parasitizing on domestic dogs and cats, but their main goal is fleas.
The range of drugs Blochnet includes means of various types, allowing you to choose the optimal preparation for an animal of almost any breed and age (except for very small kittens and puppies). In the instructions to Blochnet the manufacturer guarantees protection of the animal against fleas, ticks and withers within a month after treatment with any preparation of the ruler.
It is noteworthy that with a high level of effectiveness from parasites, the drug at the same time is quite safe to use: in cats and dogs, Blochnet rarely causes side effects, which is confirmed by numerous reviews of pet owners.
"Fleas have always been a problem of our dog, which only means did not apply. My Aces Terrier tried, probably, all preparations from fleas of foreign and Russian origin, but because of constant walks he regularly hooks new parasites. My friend advised me to buy Blochnet for dogs, although I, frankly, treated this as another widely advertised drug and did not really believe in it. But still decided to buy, the benefit of the price of Blochnet was fairly normal in comparison with foreign counterparts. It was a very pleasant surprise that the drug really worked and helped to solve our problem with fleas, now Tuzik practically does not have them. By the way, I really liked that unlike other means against fleas, Blochnet has a pleasant smell. "
The BlochNet drug line
Blokhnet preparations are developed by the Russian research and production company SKiFF, which is considered today one of the leaders of research in domestic veterinary medicine. These funds are designed for treatment against fleas, ticks, withers and some other parasites of pets.
The line of Blochnet products includes:
- Drops on the withers for dogs Blokhnet. There are five different drugs in the form of drops - for dogs weighing up to 10 kg, 10 to 20 kg, 20 to 30 kg, 30 to 40 kg and drops for cats. After rubbing, Blochnet is absorbed into the skin and spreads throughout the body with blood flow through the subcutaneous capillaries. Fleas and mites after that either perish by biting a pet, or do not attack it at all, being afraid of the smell of an insecticide that exudes the skin of an animal.
- Spray Blochnet for dogs and cats, designed for single treatment of animal hair. It is used in those cases when the animal has an allergy to insecticides, since in this application the drug does not enter the blood.
- Drops BlochNet Max is a separate line of products manufactured by Astrafarm. The ruler duplicates the drops on Blokhnet's withers, but the composition of these drops has become more modern, efficient and safe. As in the line of Blochnet, in the range of Blochnet Max there are 4 types of drops for dogs of different weights, as well as drops on the withers for cats.
All of these agents have shown a fairly high efficacy against ectoparasites in animals, but it should be borne in mind that a particular pet may not be approached by a separate preparation, since it may manifest an allergy to a particular substance .
Active substances and the principle of action of the agents
Blochnet drops for cats and dogs contain several active components: fipronil, benzyl benzoate and dimethyl phthalate. This combination of several active substances allows to increase the general toxic effect of the drug on parasites, as well as not only to destroy existing insects on the body, but also to discourage new ones.
The factory packing assumes the packaging of the drug into 1, 2, 3 and 4 ml bottles, which are packed in transparent factory boxes. Depending on the weight of the treated animal, the appropriate bottle is used: for cats and dogs weighing up to 10 kg - 1 ml, for dogs weighing 10 to 20 kg - 2 ml, and so on with the calculation of 1 ml per 10 kg of body weight of the animal.
Drugs BlochNet Max differ from the original Blochnet only in that instead of dimethyl phthalate they contain diethyltoluamide and uvemon.
On a note
Studies have shown that the more components in a preparation from parasites, the less the probability of insects developing resistance to it. Therefore, for processing animals it is always recommended to use complex means.
As confirms the instructions and reviews on Blochnet drops, the remedy has a powerful destructive effect on blood-sucking parasites, such as fleas, lice, mites. In this fipronil and benzyl benzoate block the transmission of nerve impulses in parasites, leading to complete paralysis of the insect and subsequent death. At the same time, dimethyl phthalate is primarily designed to repel insects.
All preparations of the Blochnet line (for cats and dogs) are moderately hazardous in use, and the owners' testimonials confirm the frequent occurrence of side effects. In most cases, these drops, like the drug Blochnet Max, do not have an irritating, sensitizing and pronounced toxic effect on pets.
In the composition of Blochnet and Blochnet Max drops there is no permethrin, which can often be found in alternative preparations from fleas. This insecticide is quite toxic to cats, and so the producers of Blochnet chose not to use it at all.
Blochnet is successfully used for the treatment of ear scabies. In this case, the ear canal must first be completely cleared from the animal, then the preparation should be dripped into each ear and well-balanced for a uniform distribution of the liquid.
In case of complications and otitis, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial agents should be taken additionally. When treating the ears, as well as other paired organs, it is necessary to dig in the medicine in both ears at once.
How to sanitize an animal?
When applying droplets on the withers, liquid from the bottle is applied to the skin of the animal below the occiput and carefully rubbed with fingers. After this, it is advisable to protect the animal for several hours from communicating with other cats or dogs - they can in the game lick the remnants of the drug from the wool and skin.
One animal must be applied all the liquid from the pipette. It is important only to choose the right drug in accordance with the weight of the pet. So, for example, Blochnet for dogs of different breeds weighing less than 10 kg, it is necessary to instill 1 ml of the drug, 10 to 20 kg - 2 ml, 20 to 30 kg - 3 ml and then 1 ml for every 10 kg of weight the pet's body.
On a note
If a mite is attached to the skin of the mite, a drop of the drug is applied to the parasite, which in this case disappears after 15-20 minutes.
For cats of different breeds the following dosages are observed:
- the weight of the cat is less than 5 kg - 0.5 ml (15 drops)
- with an animal weighing more than five kilograms - 1 ml.
To treat a dog or a cat with a spray is more difficult. It is advisable to do this together: one person holds a pet by the head, and another applies a spray. The more fully the animal is processed, the greater the probability that all parasites will die.
I started a dog, read a lot of information on the side effects of anti-flea remedies on the forums for dogs. I decided to consult a veterinarian I knew, he told me about the effects of various drugs on fleas and recommended Blochnet. Spray Blokhnet price was quite acceptable, which served as another factor in his choice. Claims to the quality of the drug I do not have, he well suited my dog and saved her from fleas.
It is important to ensure that the spray does not get into the eyes of the pet during treatment. After applying the spray, it is advisable not to wash it off as long as possible. If no side effects are noticed, you should not bathe the animal. It is also important to spray the stove or litter on which the pet rests.
Safety and contraindications
Blokhneth preparations are safe enough for pets. In exceptional cases, they may cause side effects: lacrimation, vomiting, copious saliva, redness of the skin and muscle tremor. If at least a few of these symptoms appear, the use of Blochnet should be stopped, it is good to buy the animal under running water and consult a veterinarian.
Spray and drops Blokhneth, as well as other preparations against fleas, it is impossible to process nursing and pregnant females, kittens under 12 weeks and puppies up to 10 weeks.
Within 2 days after spraying the animal, it is not recommended to spray it to the children and iron. But after applying drops on the withers with a pet you can play in a few hours.
My cat Mary was probably the most flea, constantly had to comb it out. Very badly tolerated drugs from fleas: teary eyes, there were desires for vomiting. In a veterinary drugstore, we were recommended to try a new Russian drug Blokhnat max, the price for which I arranged. After his application of fleas, I no longer see and Mary feels fine, this drug came up to her. I think that Blokhneth should be bought and kept in the medicine cabinet for every owner of cats.
In cases where Blochnet preparations cause an allergy in the animal or if parasites should be removed from small kittens and puppies, alternative means can be used: Front Line and Stronghold drops for adult animals, Rolf Club shampoos and Dr. Zoo for dogs and cats with especially sensitive skin, Front Line and Hartz sprays for puppies. And for very young cubs, fleas need to comb out with a comb - this will ensure the guaranteed safety of babies.
